Today we bring you Part 2 of Rebecca + Joey’s wedding, with their fun reception at the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club in Westchester, New York. Joey is a big sports fan, so Rebecca had a few thoughtful surprises up her sleeve for her new husband! Imagine how excited he was when they brought out a groom’s cake that brought together three of his sports loves….the Yankee’s, WWE wrestling, and his rec league softball team “The Spectators Bangers!” Also, Joey’s friend Dave dressed up as Hulk Hogan and surprised Joey on the dance floor with an epic entrance!
We chose to celebrate at Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club because from the first time we went to visit, we were blown away with the views, the charm of the building and the grounds themselves. It had the exact comfortable, yet elegant, country club feel that we were looking for tucked away in an area that we had somehow never seen in lower Westchester. We practically moved in that day as we added all of our details- like our million framed pictures and our parents’ wedding pictures that sat on the fireplace mantle.
All in all, the day, ceremony, cocktail hour and banquet room looked gorgeous-even better than we imagined! We expected 1000 degree weather with late July thunderstorms but instead had an amazingly mild, sunny day with a gorgeous breeze. The reception and after party were full of our favorite people, our hand picked music, a photo booth to capture crazy memories, and so many surprises from our friends! Looking at the pictures over 6 months later, really brings back all the excitement (often craziness) of planning and honestly, one of the best days of our life!
In terms of the décor, the only thing I knew I wanted was green and white!! Everything was green and white- from the hydrangeas in the church and table centerpieces to the plush white garden roses in my bouquet. We also had green table linens with hints of purple everywhere to bring out the color of our bridesmaids dresses. I still crack up every time I look back at the pictures and see a sea of purple in my dream of green and white. Everyone had expected the bridesmaids dresses to be some shade of green but that all changed when my best friend texted from the dressing room when she refused to come out because she “looked like the statue liberty”- and that’s how we decided to go with the purple dresses. We also fell in love with the cascading buttons down the back, which matched my dress (we loveeee that picture of all of us on the beach facing the water).
Thank you Paul & Krystal for capturing it all (and helping us all along the way)!! PS- we had so many favorite shots, esp. the one of my grandparents interlocking fingers when they were dancing! We also loved the picture of the room because it was all a blur and of the food!! Wish we ate some of it!! It looked great! 😉
Brides-to-be…..take Rebecca’s advice and eat your food on the wedding day…..I wish I had too : )
Thank you Rebecca + Joey for letting us share in your celebration! Congratulations to you both!!!
