New York Wedding : Rebecca + Joey : Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club : Part 1

Today’s feature is Part 1 our couple Rebecca + Joey’s wedding!   Rebecca + Joey are some of the sweetest people you’d ever want to meet, and their wedding was so much fun to photograph!  This couple has shared so much together and, like Paul + I, have been together for over 10 years!  As their wedding favors they made an eclectic mix of favorite songs that marked special times in their life together over the years, a very cool mix of quirky and mushy love songs!  Rebecca is so sweet-  after she and I found that we shared similar tastes in music, with such favorite indie bands such as the Shins and classics such as the Beatles, she actually made me my own CD mix that she was going to give me on her wedding day, but forgot to bring it and mailed it to me later!  And as if that weren’t enough, wouldn’t you know, mine and Paul’s first dance song, Ingrid Michaelson’s “You and I” was randomly on it (she didn’t even know that was the song we were going to choose)!  I love little thoughtful gifts like that  :  )

They had such a beautiful day to celebrate their love, with sparkling blue skies and white fluffy clouds floating up above….you couldn’t have asked for a more perfect summer day, although I’m sure Joey wished it was a little cooler  :  )

Rebecca shares their love story:

Joey and I had been together over ten years and within those ten years shared such an amazing pre-married life together. Our life is full of so many family and friends that it is often hard to distinguish between who is on his side and who is on mine, so our wedding theme was planned around the idea that we just wanted one HUGE party, close to home, and infused with our personal touches.

Looking back at the pictures, especially the ones from the ceremony,  really brings us back to that day.  We chose to get married at the church my parents, grandparents and sister were married at, Holy Family in New Rochelle. That church brings back so many memories with its beautiful alter and gorgeous stained glass windows, I couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle (though the joke is that it is the longestttttttt aisle possible- the pictures solidify that!)

Here are some of our favorites from the day…..
