Danyell shares with us…
“Adam and I had been dating for about 6 years when we got married. We met at Keene State College, which we were psyched to go back to with Paul and Krystal to do our love shoot! We are both super close to our family and friends. All of the people in our lives are so important to us and have always showed us so much love and support. One of the goals of our wedding was not only to celebrate our love for each other, but also to express our love for our family and friends by throwing them an amazing party…. and what a party it was! Our Wedding day was more than we could have ever dreamed it to be. It truly was the best day of our lives!
Although we both felt that our reception was beautiful and incredibly fun, we both agreed that the ceremony at St Mary’s Church was our favorite part of the whole day. The priest whom married us was from Adam’s hometown in New Hampshire. He has know us since we started dating, and has known Adam his whole life. He did a beautiful job of making the ceremony personal and truly made us feel as if we were the only two people in the church. I have never felt happier than the moment I exchanged wedding vows with my best friend.
Adam and I decided to have our reception at the New Haven Lawn Club. It was a perfect representation of our love for the style of the 1930’s and 1940’s and old Hollywood. Adam and I are big music fans and when we met, one of the first things that we realized we had in common was a love for punk music, (hence the groom crowd surfing later in the evening!) however we also both love big band and jazz. The lawn club screamed of that era. When I first walked into the ballroom I could just imagine people swing dancing there many decades ago. After that I couldn’t imagine having our reception any place else. It was perfect!
I have always felt like I was born in the wrong time period and my love for the old Hollywood look was also my inspiration our wedding attire. We choose to stick with a very classy black and white color scheme throughout the whole wedding, but brought in a hint of red in the bridesmaids shoes. Those are my favorite colors and I LOVE red shoes (I must have at least 8 pairs!), but they also fit our theme very well. I wanted to make sure my bridesmaids felt beautiful in what they were wearing while also representing my personal taste and style.
Thank you to Paul and Krystal for capturing our day so beautifully. Not only were you fabulous photographers but you were also super helpful in saving the day when no one could figure out how to bustle my dress or pin it when the hem fell out!! Future brides…don’t let the silly little things that may not be perfect get in the way of fully enjoying every second of your day (like dress malfunctions…a few pins and no one will ever know!). Also, make sure to take a personal moment with your new hubby to take in all of the excitement around you… It goes by so fast!!!”
