CT Wedding : Amber + Oscar : The Branford House Mansion, Branford, CT : Part 1

We are in full wedding season swing here at the studio, and have a whole bunch of awesome weddings to share with you……

First up is our first wedding of the year….drum roll please…..Amber + Oscar’s gorgeous, picture perfect wedding at one of our favorite venues in Connecticut, The Branford House Mansion!  What an absolutely beautiful day they had for a wedding….we enjoyed every minute, from the emotional First Look by the water, the gorgeous ceremony overlooking the ocean with blue skies overhead, the pretty details Amber painstakingly put together, to the incredible food catered by none other than Emily’s Catering (whom catered our wedding—they are the best!) and everything in between!  Our absolute favorite officiant, the delightful Marie T. Wiley, whom also married our good friends Jen + Ben last year, as well as our couple Karen + Kyle (look for a future post about their wedding :  ) worked closely with Amber + Oscar to make their ceremony so sweet, relaxed, emotional and personal!

Amber shared with us a beautiful summary she wrote of her wedding planning and the day itself.

“Ever since I was a little girl I pictured my wedding on a lush green lawn overlooking the ocean. When my Mom called to tell me about The Branford House Mansion I immediately knew we had found the venue. Beautiful mansion? Check. Lush lawn? Check. 180 degree Ocean views? Yes please!!

Over the year of our engagement I drooled over the weddings posted on Style Me Pretty, gathered decorations from Etsy and spent ever spare minute I had researching ideas to make our wedding one to remember. Instead of favors, we decided to have a Cigar Bar, Flip Flops and Photo Booth. They were all a huge hit. Since our wedding venue was over an hour away, we blocked out hotel rooms and rented a school bus to shuttle our guests to and from the wedding.

We wanted our ceremony to be personal and include each of our guests. We worked closely with our officiant to customize the ceremony and readings. When our guests arrived they were greeted with iced tea, lemonade and parmesan popcorn. As they took their seats, they were given sachets filled with lavender buds to toss at us as we walked back down the aisle in marital bliss.”

Stay tuned for Part 2 of their wedding…..coming very soon!

Wedding Dresses And Major Ideas for 2012
